A better day is comin' my way.

I'm back, and I'm not sick anymore, and it's glorious. Glorious, I tell you!
I'm starting another blog for things like recipes and clothes and pictures of pretty things and whatnot. I'll continue posting here, but I'm just sharing the information because that's how I roll.
Anyway.
Nothing exciting is happening in my life. My purple is almost all gone (I think I'll re-dye on Friday, though. I dunno), and I planted a bunch of flowers and some basil. I'm currently hoping that they don't all die, cause I sort of have a black thumb. I hope I don't kill my new best friend!
My new best friend is a pot of African violets, by the way.
Yeah.
It's almost the end of March, but it's not nearly close enough to July to justify just how excited I am to go to Carpinteria this summer. And Mammoth. At least, I think it's Mammoth. But mostly Carpinteria. Unfortunately we won't be able to camp, but there's a Motel 6 there and it's a short, pleasant walk from the rest of the town and I really, really, really just want to be there right now. That is all there is to it.
Please, semester, just end already.
Especially you, sociology class. Especially you.
Thankfully spring break is next week, that will be the halfway mark. On the 10th, I will be closer to the end than the beginning. Now if the end of the semester would hurry up already...
Boring classes make for an impatient Sarah.

You've got me in a death roll.

Today was full of adventures, like grocery shopping, exchanging hair toner for nail polish, and not getting my hair dyed. Tuesday, though.
Thrifted shirt, mom's skirt, Payless shoes.

Sputter, stop, and fall into energy.

Lazy, lazy, lazy day. Believe me when I say that I just got dressed for the sake of a picture.
Sweater from Torrid, skirt from my mom, thrifted tee, WalMart headband,
DIY necklace.
Vintage bangles that I wore yesterday and forgot to document.
Payless shoes.

Do you feel strange on the inside?

The same old feeling are here, lurking and threatening to eat me alive.
I need to go somewhere. Somewhere new. Somewhere in the mountains, I think. I want to camp and be able to see the stars.
I'm feeling lonely. I want someone, but I don't want to stick my neck out and say "pick me!" I keep telling myself that I need to have more courage, but let's face it, I'm a coward. The mere thought of talking to someone I don't know, male or female or whatever, makes me want to find a hole. I've become a lot more antisocial within the last year. I can go for a full day without talking, and it doesn't bother me until I realise it.
I need a change.
Next fall can't come soon enough. This time next year, I'll be in Maine. I'll be somewhere I've never even seen before, and I can't wait.
No, seriously. I can't wait. At all.

You can't find your name in the script.

Let's start with a couple of photos from Carpinteria.

Seriously, I love this place so much. It's my home. Or, it will be. One day.
Anyway.
I still haven't talked to Luis since Tuesday. I don't know if I even really want to. Ugh, I hate this, not knowing. I really do.
But to make up for it all, I met a cute boy on the bus yesterday. It was quite a stroke of good luck, I think, since the bus was almost full. And, for the record, he talked to me. He has a great smile, and now I'm just waiting for him to add me on Facebook. He probably would have asked for my number if it hadn't been for an odd incident involving an older guy behind us and a children's book that may or may not exist.
Casey said it was adorable when I told her about how he waved to me when he got off the bus.
I have to agree.

We're talkin' about two different things.

I need school to start. I need distractions. I need new faces and new names that I won't be able to remember. I need new guys in my life. I'm absolutely going to find someone this semester, whether I rekindle what I had with the fellow who shall henceforth be dubbed The Idiot, or whether I find someone new.
I'm sick and I'm tired of being a second choice, or, usually, not a choice at all. I need someone to see me and give me butterflies and keep me at the top of his mind. I need someone that wears the same goofy smile as me when we first meet. I need someone that wants to go to aquariums and In-N-Out and the beach and Saddleback Butte.
I need someone.
That's all there is to it.
Ugh. Ugh, ugh, ugh.

I can watch the sunset on my own.

I don't know what it is, but every time Casey and I hang out together, we turn into babbling idiot versions of ourselves, laughing at every single little thing possible. It's the best. :)
We're going to the mall tomorrow. Er, today. I'm going to turn in an application to Torrid, and we'll hunt around for an attractive guy. Well, I will. She has a new boyfriend.
Really, there would be a good point to this if I was posting after the mall, but some nights, you just feel like writing. And posting pictures of yourself and your best friend.
April 2010, right before we left for the Renaissance faire. Good times, good times. :)

The words are in my mind.

One of these days, I'm going to count just how many books I own. I'd be willing to bet that it's over a hundred. Regardless, they don't all fit onto my bookshelf.
Of course, when I went to Borders today, I bought three more. I don't know where I'll put them. But I will find a way. I'm good at putting things away.
Honestly, that's all the news I have today.
My life is fraught with excitement!
