Six days.

Six days away from Carpinteria are six days too many.

A better day is comin' my way.

I'm back, and I'm not sick anymore, and it's glorious. Glorious, I tell you!
I'm starting another blog for things like recipes and clothes and pictures of pretty things and whatnot. I'll continue posting here, but I'm just sharing the information because that's how I roll.
Anyway.
Nothing exciting is happening in my life. My purple is almost all gone (I think I'll re-dye on Friday, though. I dunno), and I planted a bunch of flowers and some basil. I'm currently hoping that they don't all die, cause I sort of have a black thumb. I hope I don't kill my new best friend!
My new best friend is a pot of African violets, by the way.
Yeah.
It's almost the end of March, but it's not nearly close enough to July to justify just how excited I am to go to Carpinteria this summer. And Mammoth. At least, I think it's Mammoth. But mostly Carpinteria. Unfortunately we won't be able to camp, but there's a Motel 6 there and it's a short, pleasant walk from the rest of the town and I really, really, really just want to be there right now. That is all there is to it.
Please, semester, just end already.
Especially you, sociology class. Especially you.
Thankfully spring break is next week, that will be the halfway mark. On the 10th, I will be closer to the end than the beginning. Now if the end of the semester would hurry up already...
Boring classes make for an impatient Sarah.

Dig your heels into the sand, but it won't last.

Extra post today. I feel like I haven't really written anything lately, aside from a quick "About Today's Look" sort of thing.
Yesterday in my sociology class, my professor was talking about this summer abroad thing with one of the French professors. It's a month in Paris. I'd be packing already if it wasn't for the fact that the trip is $3300. It's not an insane amount, considering the fact that that includes transportation and room & board, but there's absolutely no way I could get that much by June.
So I've decided that I'm going to fight tooth and nail to do my fall semester abroad. Since I won't be able to transfer to Monterey Bay (my new school of choice, where I'll be majoring in marine science) until Spring 2013, I'll have a whole semester of, well, wasting time. I'll have all of my transfer units at the end of this semester, but, alas, life sucks and I can't even apply till, well, soon, I hope. So I'll have all of fall semester to either take random, boring classes at either COC or AVC, or study abroad. Really, I'd like to go anywhere, so long as I can travel somewhere. Does that make sense?
I need to start looking into the various programs, and costs, and how on earth I'm going to pay for it. Oi.
It's so worth it, though.

Do you feel strange on the inside?

The same old feeling are here, lurking and threatening to eat me alive.
I need to go somewhere. Somewhere new. Somewhere in the mountains, I think. I want to camp and be able to see the stars.
I'm feeling lonely. I want someone, but I don't want to stick my neck out and say "pick me!" I keep telling myself that I need to have more courage, but let's face it, I'm a coward. The mere thought of talking to someone I don't know, male or female or whatever, makes me want to find a hole. I've become a lot more antisocial within the last year. I can go for a full day without talking, and it doesn't bother me until I realise it.
I need a change.
Next fall can't come soon enough. This time next year, I'll be in Maine. I'll be somewhere I've never even seen before, and I can't wait.
No, seriously. I can't wait. At all.
