This machine is dying.

First day of school! I did not make it out unscathed, unfortunately. My bag was heavy enough to leave welts on my shoulder. Well, maybe not welts. It just hurts. This is why I don't bring books!
Tee is Lane Bryant, my mom made the skirt, sweater and tights are WalMart.

Necklace is from Kohl's.

Boots are from Payless.

Detail of the skirt's pockets. Which makes me happy. I love pockets!
How about a real update, though? Since I did go back to school today and all that.
I got up at six to catch a seven o'clock train so I wouldn't be late to a 10:30 class. Seriously, Metrolink, make my life easier and add a train! Anyway, I also had Critical Reasoning, Chemistry, and all the textbooks in the world today. Tomorrow, it'll just be one book...
Which reminds me...
I should be doing math homework instead of this.
Yeah...

Heavy boots for cryin' out loud.

Today's outfit is brought to you by grocery shopping. And going to Target, only to discover that the Jason Wu collection has already been ransacked and thus soothing my pain with a new jar of peanut butter, new headphones, and a couple Burt's Bees products.
Dress is Torrid, belt is Fashion Bug, jacket is WalMart, Top (underneath) is
Target, sunglasses are from Tilly's booth at Warped last summer.

Charlotte Russe bag.

Payless shoes.
My classes start tomorrow, but I'll try to post something tomorrow night. If not, expect make-up posts whenever I can make them.
Hooray, a reason to do stuff! Even if it's too early to function!

You are my coffee spoon.

Another day of doing nothing. Well, unless you count getting caught up on TV. You do, right?
Vintage bracelet.
The shirt and wedges are from Marshall's, and the skirt is from Fashion Bug.

Can you remember the moment?

Bum day with a bit of bike riding and a lot of being lazy. It's all good.
Old Navy sunglasses, thrifted top, skirt stolen from my mom. A year ago.
I'm a good daughter.

Payless shoes.

WalMart watch.

DIY necklace.

Do your feet hurt, did you fall from heaven?

I did things today! I was quite productive! It was crazy!
I went shopping, and I ended up getting quite a few things that I can't wait to wear. I'm so excited. I can barely contain my joy.
Anyway, here's today's outfit.
Coat: Ross | Dress: Torrid, I think | Bag: gift from my aunt
Bracelet: gift from Casey | Headband: Target

Tights: WalMart | Shoes: Vans

Necklace: DIY

Okay, then.

These awesome shoes are from Vans.

We all sleep inside of this machine.

So it's been a while. Well, it hasn't been too long, but you've missed out on some things!
I spent New Year's Eve sitting on the computer, which wasn't that exciting, but it was nice to just chill and have a solid internet connection. I feel like it's a real luxury.
I didn't do anything on the first, but on the second, I went to the Glendale Galleria with Casey and her dad. We then went to Thousand Trails to visit with people and play pool. We do love pool.
I went to Tucson with my family during the three-day weekend, and that was fun. I forgot how beautiful that desert is. It's not like ours; it's just so green. It's like another world to me.
We didn't do much. We spent a lot of time with my family (the family we were visiting. It was like a reunion). We spent a bit of time at the mall there, which I like a lot. I'm a mall rat, I really am. Oh, and Casey and I wandered the Arizona desert in the rain.

Casey and a very large/old saguaro.

Family portrait! Excuse my horrible hair.
We came back on Monday night. I can never travel enough.
Last night, we went to a show to support a few of the bands we've been promoting. I would post photos, but, alas, I don't have any. I'm a bum.
And that's about it. The semester starts on February 6th, so I have that to look forward to. And by "look forward to", I mean "dread immensely." Dear everything, I hate getting up early.
Oh, and I'm doing Fa(t)shion February, so expect a daily post. Hopefully I won't disappoint.
And now that's about it. I hope you enjoyed your New Year's/the rest of January!

There's no use in TV shows, radio, or rodeo.

Happy after-Christmas and almost-New Year! I had a pretty good holiday. I got some new bedding, a cute headband, a digital camera, and a video camera. I plan on using everything as much as humanly possible. Christmas was a relatively chill affair. We had Christmas morning at my house, and then we went to my aunt and uncle's for prime rib and more presents. I got a ton of pictures of my nieces and my nephews, but my favourite is of some superheroes.
Also, Casey and I made a little gingerbread village. We both kind of hated it—they're basically delicious 3D puzzles, and we have a bad history with puzzles. Nonetheless, here is my effort.
My gingerbread shanties. I love them dearly.
I don't know what my plans are for New Year's Eve. I'll probably watch movies, contemplate cleaning my room, and make some donuts. I'm quite ambitious, as you can tell.
Enjoy your holiday!

I went running to the road.

So on the 30th, Casey and I went to Castaic to watch a band perform. Locked & Loaded. They're some of the coolest guys ever, not to mention immensely talented. We took some pictures and got an interview, which I was woefully unprepared for. My future interviews will go much more smoothly.
Anyway, it was a nice day and the music was great and the drive was pretty.

On Halloween, I just stayed home and watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Casey had gotten sick, so we postponed all happy fun times for the next day, which we did.
Then, a lot of time spent at school, farmer's markets, and various modes of transport.
Last Monday, I ditched math and got back into town at around 1:30. Casey and I wandered around town, finally got our 99-cent pupusas, and went to a city planning meeting (or whatever it was) in support of the Industry Theatre. We're so excited for them to open! A real, fresh music venue for the AV! Plus, it's beautiful.  There's this phenomenal artwork everywhere. There are walls and benches covered in graffiti-style murals, there's a wall with these 3-D pieces composed of, like, chain-link fencing and pipe, and a smallish mural of these fragmented cities. I can't wait to get some pictures.
Since then, it's been school, commuting, and not doing homework.
Tomorrow, I have to go to this tea at my aunt's church, so that promises to be...interesting.
And, the biggest and best news of all: the semester ends next Thursday.
Finally.
I'm excited about the break, if only for the napping opportunities. I fully plan on catching up on as much sleep as is humanly possible!

Oh, I know you understand.

Life is boring. Except it isn't. It just seems like it.
Staying true to myself, I'm partially in adoration with this cute guy I see twice a week. Let's call him Dapper Boy, because that's exactly what he is. I love it. I actually went so far as to ask him out once. Unfortunately, he couldn't go. But Casey and I could.
We went to an ACIDIC show in Hollywood on the seventh. The band rented a limo for us, and we essentially partied with rock stars.
Casey took this. And Mike destroyed Mike's shirt.
These are the two who went with us to, and from, the show. They also drove us home, along with two of their friends, in what can be described as the most dangerous car ride ever.
What else.
Um.
Yesterday, Casey and I were going to go to the Boulevard for 99-cent papusas, but that plan failed spectacularly. They're only 99 cents on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Essentially, every day that we don't go. So instead, we got 99-cent burgers and an order of chili fries, wandered a beauty supply store, looked at makeup in Rite-Aid, and got all kinds of stoked to see that the Rite-Aid had a Thrifty's. We both got ice cream cones (Medieval Madness is the greatest flavour of all time. Pupkin is odd.) and felt tremendously nostalgic.
Thursday through Tuesday will be fairly busy. Thursday is the Farmer's Market, our weekly ritual. Friday will be a relatively chill day; the most exciting thing will be setting my hair in pin curls. Saturday is the Boolvd, a small Halloween festival on the Boulevard where we will be dressing up. Sunday is an out-of-town show, where we will be seeing Locked & Loaded. Monday, I will be turning nineteen, and we will become zombies and go to another show. Tuesday is a mall trip and my birthday dinner.
I am stoked, even if I have to miss dissecting a crayfish to become a zombie.
